1. The Ordination of Pastor Ross Watters
We are thrilled to invite you to attend the Ordination Service of Pastor (soon to be Reverend!) Ross Watters on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
We’ll welcome Rev. Paul Beautyman, mentor to Pastor Ross, who will be our guest speaker for the occasion and there will be a reception in the Gym following the service.
Not able to make it, but still want to celebrate with Pastor Ross, Fi and the girls? You can also watch it live on YouTube at youtube.com/@brunswickstreetbaptist.
2. Retirement of Pastor Greg Geldart
On behalf of our Lead Pastor and with the support of the Board of Deacons, I would like to announce that Rev. Greg Geldart will be concluding his ministry and retiring from full time pastoral ministry on September 30, 2023. His letter of retirement was submitted and accepted by Board on September 19. We are grateful for Pastor Greg’s 21 years of faithful service at Brunswick Street. The Lord has used him in countless ways, and we wish God’s greatest blessing on Pastor Greg, Margaret, and Claire. In the coming months, there will be an opportunity to recognize the Geldarts and their ministry here at Brunswick Street. We invite you to pray for Pastor Greg and his family and also for our church family and leaders as we move into a new season of ministry.
Respectfully,
Denise Mersereau
Chair, Board of Deacons
3. Missions Month: Sept. 10 – Oct. 1
On Sunday, September 10, we started our “Missions Month” ministry which has been put together by our Missions Committee (Thanks!). For this series, we heard from Deacon Charlie Ritchie, Pastor Ross, and Pastor Charles. This Sunday Dr. Keith Bodner will be speaking with John Stewart on the subject of missions.
4. Missions Month Special: Oct. 1
Travelling very very far without your passport!
Join Charles as he arrives at the conclusion of this missional adventure, on Sunday morning at 9:30 am in the Barnabas Center, located in the church parking lot.
We have journeyed together for 2 weeks (Sept. 17 and 24) in a course called "Welcoming the Nations Among Us". We have wrestled with missionary concepts and ideas such as: "No longer do you have to cross oceans to be a cross-cultural missionary to the unreached...you just have to cross the street. This may be the largest missions opportunity in our generation to take the hope of salvation to those least reached with the Gospel." This Sunday will be the last day in our three-week journey.
What to bring?
A Bible and a pen. Manuals will be provided.
Your travel mug. Tea and coffee will be served.
And maybe some healthy finger food to share!
Plus, if you have extra time on your hands on Sunday mornings, consider joining Charles at 9am, in the Barnabas Center for prayer & fellowship and maybe some set-up 😉!
À dimanche! Hasta luego! See you there!
Charles
5. Mission Month Wrap Up Potluck: Oct. 1
How have you enjoyed our focus on missions this past month? Have you been challenged by the messages from our special speakers and events? Have you ever considered becoming involved in local mission efforts or going on a short-term mission trip to another region or even another country or continent?
The Missions Committee is inviting the congregation to join us in the gym after this Sunday’s service for a question-and-answer session to help determine “Where do we go from here?”
The Missions Committee will be providing sandwiches, coffee, tea and juice. Please feel free to bring a potluck dish to share.
Everyone is invited to attend. We would love to hear from the larger church family regarding your thoughts, comments, questions, and dreams regarding missions at BSBC as we go forward.
See you in the gym after the service.
BSBC Missions Committee

13. Harvest for the Hungry
“Harvest for the Hungry”, a ministry from our Social Action Team, invites our church family to bring non-perishable food and household items to the church.
These items will be divided between our New Life Ministry (supporting families who struggle to ‘make ends meet’) and the Greener Village Fredericton Food Bank. The food collected makes a positive impact on families with great need and is a sign, we pray, of God’s love and His provision through His Church.
Here are the specific requests from our New Life Ministry:
Spaghetti sauce
Spaghetti noodles
Soup
Canned vegetables
Canned meat
Cereal
Kraft dinner
Rice
Packaged items for kid’s lunches
Toilet Paper
We invite you to do a little shopping and then bring your ‘harvest’ to the Connections Centre (on or before Thanksgiving Sunday) where it will be collected and ultimately distributed. Or you can make a financial donation to the project by simply designating your gift to “Harvest for the Hungry." Following Thanksgiving, we’ll divide these gifts between New Life and Greener Village.
Thank you for making Christ’s love known through your thankful giving and may God use our ‘harvest’ for His glory!
14. New Life Request
One of our New Life ladies is in need of a kitchen stove. If you or anyone you know have an extra stove in good used condition that you are looking to donate, please contact Rosa McEwing.
Thank you for caring for our ladies in this way.
Rosa McEwing
New Life Coordinator
15. Third Sunday Supper
Dear Friends,
The Third Sunday Supper is going strong with up to 50 guests some Sundays. This is an incredible ministry where we can meet folks in a relaxing and loving atmosphere, while gently planting seeds of faith. In order to continue with this important work, we do need volunteers to help prepare a meal for our guests. They are not fussy and are so appreciative of every meal served. We provide a small stipend of $100.00 to cover some of the costs.
I am now looking at my schedule for 2024. Do you think you and your friends, family or small group could help prepare a meal for TSS? If so, please reach out to me, by phone 506-238-9903 or email judypaul1088@gmail.com.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you.
Blessings,
Judy Thompson
