How have you been?
I heard you have received your fair share of rain this summer, unlike here in BC. Please send buckets full over here! (and pray for rain!)
It's always a joy and a privilege to be asked to share a few words about ministry and missionary life with you all, knowing that as a family, we joyfully and willingly support each other in prayer!
The 10-day road trip was a real treat as I got to visit family and friends along the way. The 6,000+ kms God took me through came and went as a breeze. I totally recommend it to all! I arrived in Surrey, BC, safe and sound two Wednesdays ago, and since then, been offered hospitality by the Punjabi Masihi Church, made up of brothers and sisters originally from India.
Very naturally, God allowed for me to meet a big spiritual family I didn't know I had! What a great blessing to be welcomed and received with open arms by caring relatives!
Sarah and the kids have arrived this past Sunday evening. Oh! what a joy to see their faces again and be able to hug them and be with them under the same roof!
Ministry-wise, we are making good progress and finishing the initial training on Saturday the 24th, that will lead us right into the first week of soccer camp, Monday 26 to Friday 30th.
Please pray that the team of coaches and support staff, coming from 5 different churches, will exhibit God's love to all the kids, aged 9 to 12, who will come and to the parents who will entrust their children to them. Surrey is made up of a very international and diverse population and many have very little knowledge of God's beautiful redemptive plan.
Pray also for the connections I want to establish with the pastors and missions leaders of these 5 churches who form the foundational ministry team. Summer time is always a bit more challenging for arranging meetings.
