1. The "Team Members" You Don't Always See

Our journey through Advent to Christmas was made possible by a team of folks who sacrificially gave of their time and talents to make possible in-person and online services.

Thank you to all our musicians & worship leaders. Your ministry this season has brought us closer to the ‘reason for the season’ – Jesus Christ.

Thanks to the members of our wonderful ‘Tech Team’:  Adrian Verboom, Anthony Brown, Bruce Colpitts, Bryan McWilliam, Elaine Pond, Erik Lange, Jon Wilton, Julia Polyachenko, Kellie Brown, Mark McAllister, Mary Tingley, Martina Verboom and Sergiy Polyachenko.

We’re grateful for our ‘In-Person COVID-19 Screening Team Members’:  Andrea Bragdon, Diane Shannon, Doug McAllister, Heather Topple McAllister, Lisa Jones, Deacon Louise Billings, Deacon Mary Tingley, Sarah Millette and Deacon Stephen VanSlyke and to the many ushers who helped out each Sunday.

Thank you to our puppet team members:  Alexandra Dunfield, Chloé Robert, Chris Graves, Erik Dunfield, Rotimi Akalusi, Rukeme Akalusi and Sammy Powers.

2. Anniversary Communion Sunday

Worship on Jan. 3 will include the service of the Lord’s Table. Dr. Keith will be back with us as we celebrate our 207th anniversary. This will provide us an opportunity to renew our covenant relationship with the Lord our God. Jon & Alyse Wilton will be leading music in the gym and, Gloria Tranquilla, David Steeves and Margaret Geldart will be providing musical leadership in the sanctuary.

3. End of Year Giving

Sincere thanks to our church family for your faithfulness to financial giving in support of the varied ministries of BSBC.

As we approach the end of 2020, I wanted to remind you of our $18,000 goal for the special Christmas offering in addition to our desire to meet our budgeted income goal for 2020.

How to give

Offerings can be dropped off at the church office during business hours up to noon on Thursday, Dec. 31. Any gifts received after noon on Dec. 31 will be receipted as given in 2021.

E-Transfer gifts will be accepted up to 11:59 pm on Dec. 31 as there will be a bank record of that gift arriving in 2020.

Thank you for prayerfully considering the opportunity to give.

Ken Reimer, Treasurer

4. Solid Rock Finances

Daniel Savard invites you to join him for a study on personal finances entitled ROCK SOLID FINANCES – a video study created by Ashley Woodridge.

Are you tired of always worrying about money? Do you know what the Bible says about money? This class will teach basic financial strategies based on the truth of God’s Word. In it, we will cover the topics of budgeting, debt elimination, savings and honouring God with our finances.

This 6-session study will take place on ZOOM Thursdays, 6:30 to 8 p.m. starting Jan. 7, 2021. Click the link below to register or contact our Zoom-Master, Jason, for information at xinkaixk.zhou@gmail.com or Daniel at timberwolfe57@live.ca.

6. Can You Assist Our Friends, The Bannisters?

Tim and Diane Bannister are returning to Canada from Tanzania to begin a new chapter in their lives and ministry. They have been long time partners in mission with BSBC.

The following announcement from Sheila Ross will help them settle into their apartment in New Brunswick.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Pastor Greg

Can you help?

Tim and Diane Bannister, who have been serving in Africa for 33 years, are coming home to Fredericton in January and will need things to set up their apartment. If you have any of the following items that you can either pass on to them, or loan to them until they are able to purchase them, they would be so thankful.

We can put the things in their apartment starting Jan. 15 as they will be isolating elsewhere. Or we can store things at the church until then.

  • Queen Bed/Bedding

  • Dressers

  • Reading Chair

  • Living Room Furniture

  • Desk and Chair

  • Hide-a-Bed

  • Towels

  • Pantry Supplies.

Please contact Sheila Ross (455-8474) sheilaeross@hotmail.com if you are able to help in any way. Thank You!

7. Vacation

Please be in prayer for Pastor Greg and Margaret as Pastor Greg will be out of the office for some post-Christmas time off beginning Monday, Jan. 4 through to Saturday, Jan. 9.

8. It's Annual Report Time

Don’t forget that all Annual Reports are due before Monday, Jan. 4

Please be considerate of this deadline.  Report information can be emailed directly to the church office at bsbc@bsbc.nb.ca or dropped off at the office in typewritten form, if possible.

Thank you,

Janet Mitchell

9. The New Life Cupboards are Bare

In January, New Life had enough non-perishable food stipends to last the rest of the year. Then COVID-19 hit and the group shut down until this October.

Before we opened, we went through the dates on all the food and 3/4 of it was either past date or nearing.   We made use of the near expired food but could not give away the majority. Thus, the cupboards are very, very bare at this time.

We need your help
To reopen in the new year, we need to restock the shelves and your help will be invaluable. We will need: Kraft Dinner, Cookies, Canned Veggies, Canned Tomatoes, Canned Ham/Chicken/Turkey/Tuna, Canned Fruit, Spaghetti Sauce, Dry Pasta, Cereal, Crackers, Canned Pasta, Canned Brown Beans, Cheese Whiz, Peanut Butter, Canned/Bottled/Boxed Fruit Juices, Toilet Paper, Kleenex, Paper Towel, Boxed Potatoes.

Thank you, in advance, as the small bag of groceries we give each week help our participants.

Rhonda MacLure-Perrin

Thank you to all who have already responded to this request!
