Greetings BSBC Brothers and Sisters

Since 1964 when I first started dating my soul mate, I've totally wanted to be with her 24/7. Now, in 2020, God is granting my wish by having us "stay home" until this virus is brought under control.  If she didn't before, Lois now realizes the accuracy the plaque on my office wall that says "A retired husband is often a wife's full time job". Certainly while "staying home" is now absolutely essential, refraining from our normal routines is difficult, and as with you, our entire life seems to be "on hold".

Yet how refreshing it is to be a part of our Brunswick Street Church Family, especially as we hit the bumps that try to interrupt our fellowshipping together. I continually experience the magnet drawing our church family together most notably as I am in contact with our seniors in their residences.

God says "Be still and know that I am God". Thankfully this present world crisis that we are experiencing is occurring during the most uplifting time of the year. At Easter we can emphasize and celebrate our Lord and Saviour's victorious sacrifice for us. Any restrictions forced by Covid-19 can assist us in pausing and taking time to be still before God, and to focus on that which is really important.

The greatest Architect/Physician produced His finest creation by "wonderfully" designing and making our house of clay, shaping within it marvellous capabilities and multi functionings. Dr Roy Pointer once said "the greatest physical healing for a Born Again Christian is physical death". He was pointing out that our body is not our soul, nor is time eternity.  Because our Creator completed us by breathing into mans nostrils "the breath of life", man then became "a living soul."  Within this wonderful creation of our house of clay, our soul finds its temporary living quarters and God's Holy Spirit establishes a temple. Through Calvary we may now share in the beautiful cure that releases our soul from eternal separation from God, a cure that has been provided for us only through the prescribed medication found in Christ's death and resurrection! Are we valuable or what!  We can just go on counting our blessings! Can Covid-19 top that?

Covid 19 .... where's your sting? where's your victory?

Blessings,

Jim
