A Message from Dr. Keith

a message from pastor greg.jpg

Greetings BSBC friends!

In the midst of shifting sands and related uncertainties, it is a relief to know that TheStreet remains very much open for business, although in ways that are more creative than we ever could have thought! I have been thankful for Pastor Greg—alongside our diverse team of dedicated workers that seems to be growing all the time—for the quick pivot to an online platform that at least allows for some virtual fellowship in these days. As a silver lining, all kinds of people are streaming in who wouldn’t otherwise be able to join us. So a generous word of thanks to all who are supporting our shared work this spring, allowing BSBC to move out into new territory with the message of good news, not unlike the early enterprises launched from the city of Antioch.

Speaking of the early church, I would like to extend a word of thanks to you all for the encouragement and interest in our series this year in the book of Acts. Any series like this requires quite a bit of concentration (which is not easy in an era of sound bites and endless news cycles), but there are great dividends in the patient study of God’s word. Over the summer we had been planning a number of shorter series, and so we will stick with that plan during the next three months. Be sure to tune in, and please invite others to connect with us.

First up will be a few weeks exploring Genesis 37-50, the story of Joseph and his rather dysfunctional family who experience God’s sustaining grace amidst difficult circumstances and in spite of less-than-stellar conduct. Don’t forget that starting next Tuesday June 16th we will also post a weekly audio blog (or what the pastoral staff rather laughingly refer to as “bodcasts”) with further discussion of questions and comments from the Sunday message. Send in your questions (receptionist@bsbc.nb.ca) to the front reception desk no later than Monday at 4:30 pm, and hopefully they will be addressed in these 20 minute (or so) features.

Looking forward to it,
